Rep. Kucinich's 35 Articles of Impeachment

Some subscribers may not have received
yesterday's alert on Rep. Kucinich's introduction of Articles of
Impeachment. This is a resend, with the updated news that the impeachment
bill has been sent to the House
Judiciary Committee in what is seen as as a way to delay consideration
until after the elections.

Your calls are as important as ever, and we
thank you in advance for the action you take on this important
issue.

On Monday, June 9,
Rep. Dennis Kucinich took the floor of the House of Representatives and read 35 Articles of
Impeachment against George W. Bush. The
Alliance for Democracy joins with Democrats.com and many other national
and local progressive organizations in urging you to support Kucinich's call.

today and demand support for impeachment.

Since the invasion of Iraq the Alliance has
challenged the corporate war agenda through chapter-level peace work, Justice
Rising, and collaboration with national groups. We've also fought for
election protection and the right to health care. To us, these articles make plain which "constituents" mattered most to
the White House:

• Private "defense," "reconstruction" and "security"
  firms, which have enriched themselves through lax oversight and no-bid
  contracts: (Article XV: Providing Immunity from Prosecution for Criminal
  Contractors in Iraq; Article XVI: Reckless Misspending and Waste of U.S. Tax
  Dollars in Connection With Iraq and U.S. Contractors)
  
• Well-connected electronic voting system developers
  and data management companies: (Article XXVIII Tampering with Free and Fair
  Elections, Corruption of the Administration of Justice)
  
• The health care industry: (Article XXX: Misleading
  Congress and the American People in an Attempt to Destroy Medicare)
  
• And big oil companies: (Article XXXII: Misleading
  Congress and the American People, Systematically Undermining Efforts to
  Address Global Climate Change; Article XII: Initiating a War Against Iraq for
  Control of That Nation's Natural Resources)

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Majority Leader Steny
Hoyer, and Democratic Caucus Chair Rahm Emanuel are all opposed to proceding
with impeachment. And only 17 Democrats supported Rep. Robert Wexler's call for
Judiciary Committee hearings on Rep. Kucinich's Articles of Impeachment against
Cheney.

Your representative needs to hear from you!
Now is the time to stand up for civil liberties, truth and
accountability--call today to keep the call for impeachment "on the
table."
